The police are now sharing the identity and photos of two of the suspects in the hope of getting more information about where they have been and with whom they have been in contact after the art theft. This information may say something about where the stolen goods are now. The suspects are Douglas Chesley Wendersteyt and Bernhard Zeeman, both from Heerhugowaard. The identity of the third suspect, a woman from Heerhugowaard, is not (yet) being disclosed. More info via www.politie.nl/assen-nl.
Found bag and clothing
The police have come onto the trail of the suspects after finding a bag that was left behind in a neighborhood in Assen. Clothing was also found inside. Photos of this bag and clothing are now being shared by the police, along with the location where the bag was found.
Ford Transit
In addition to information about the suspects, the bag, and the clothing, the police also want more information about a black Ford Transit. The investigation has revealed that one of the suspects possibly drove a black Ford Transit with license plate V-586-KR shortly after the burglary.
The police are therefore asking for more information about this Ford Transit and whether anyone has seen it after the burglary. This may provide insight into the movements of the suspect(s). Earlier, the police also requested attention for the VW Golf with the (stolen) license plate K-813-BK, which the suspects drove away from the museum.
On the special page www.politie.nl/assen-nl you can find more information about the two suspects. The photo of the original black Ford Transit is also shown here, as well as the presumably used bag with clothing.
