To start, a central working table will be established, followed by three thematic working tables focused on the vision for food from the sea and large waters: food, entrepreneurship, and space. Members of the working tables include producer organizations, the Fishing Federation, the Pelagic Freezer Trawler Association (PFA), the North Sea Foundation, the North Sea Consultation (NZO), the Bird Protection, netVISwerk, the Administrative Platform Fisheries (BPV), and the National Consultation Fish Auctions (NOVA).
“With the appointment of Roelof Bisschop, we welcome someone with extensive experience,” says Secretary of State Rummenie. “He is someone whose heart lies with the fishing sector, and I am pleased that he starts as chair of the fisheries working table.”
Bisschop: “There is a solid vision for food from the sea and large waters. It is valuable that this recognizes the contribution of fishing and aquaculture to a healthy food package. Now, it is crucial to translate that vision into a sustainable action program.”
“The aim of this working table is to do this together with all involved parties, which I find very appealing. As chair, I want to commit to this,” says Bisschop. “I am confident that through good consultation, we can create a beautiful, realistic, and widely supported action agenda.”
