Series of Sixteen Fraud Cases in Team West

The program Team West will focus tonight on sixteen fraud cases in The Hague, where elderly people were called by fake bank or police employees. The police also request witnesses for a violent threat in Maasdijk. In Opsporing Verzocht, the case of Atilla is highlighted, who was found in a burning van in Delfgauw on December 8.

Deceased Man – Delfgauw

On December 8, a burning van was discovered in a parking lot on Rijksstraatweg in Delfgauw. Inside the van was 45-year-old Atilla from Turkey, who died on the spot. The parking lot is a known meeting place. The police are investigating the case as a possible crime and are calling for witnesses.

Bank Helpdesk Fraud – The Hague

Between November 15 and December 11, 2024, there were sixteen fraud cases where elderly people became victims. Fake bank or police employees called them and collected bank cards and jewelry. The police show footage of four suspects who used the stolen bank cards. There are also images of jewelry found with a suspect. The police ask owners of stolen jewelry to come forward.

Threat with Violence – Maasdijk

On January 14, 2025, at 16:00, a threat occurred on Lange Kruisweg in Maasdijk. Two unknown men threatened employees of a company without stealing anything. The men drove away in a small gray car. Team West calls for witnesses to come forward.
