Arrested Suspect Possibly Embezzled Millions

Gebied: Tilburg, Breda, Roosendaal, s-Gravenhage

On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, the police arrested a suspect who may have embezzled over five million euros from investors. The Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) filed a report with the police regarding this embezzlement after receiving multiple complaints. An investigation was immediately launched, leading to the arrest of this suspect.

The suspect has raised over five million euros since 2022 with two investment firms from people who thought they were making a good investment in real estate. Although interest was sometimes paid out, it became apparent after a while that the money was not being invested in real estate but was being transferred to private accounts of the suspect and related companies and individuals. In addition to embezzlement, the suspect and two of his companies are also charged with fraud and money laundering. It has also recently come to light during the investigation that in recent months, significant investments of up to one million euros have been made through the suspects funds. There are concerns that this money may also be siphoned off. Speed was therefore essential. Thus, on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, the 68-year-old suspect was arrested at his residence in The Hague, Netherlands. His websites, where people could sign up to invest, were immediately taken offline. The suspects accounts have been frozen, and data carriers have been seized.

Victims can come forward

There may be more than 135 victims of these practices. Through bank accounts, we have a picture of the affected individuals, but there is (still) no complete picture. We would like to obtain this and ask people who are victims or think they might be victims to make themselves known to us via the tip form below. This concerns investments through:

  • Spain Real Estate
  • PMR Real Estate and Investments

The brochures of these investment firms indicated that investments would be made in real estate in homes in the Netherlands and in Spain. Please sign up via the tip form below and leave an email address and possibly a phone number.

Investigation continues

With the arrest of the suspect, the investigation is far from over. There is still much unclear and to be investigated.
