Alert Residents Catch Car Thief

At around 04:40, the police were alerted to an incident on Dudok de Wit Street in Breukelen. A resident had caught a car thief in the act. Officers arrested the thief, who attempted to escape using pepper spray. The alert resident held the man until the police arrived, with help from several bystanders.

Investigations revealed that several cars had been broken into, with the police counting at least four. Not all owners have been contacted, and the police are asking them to get in touch via 0900—8844 to file a complaint.
