High5 Hackathon: Innovation in Permitting, Supervision, and Enforcement

Rijkswaterstaat organized the third High5 Hackathon, focusing on innovation in permitting, supervision, and enforcement. The hackathon addressed the challenge of processing about 750 discharge permits, requiring AI and digital solutions to enhance efficiency and standardization. The event highlighted the need for improved data handling and decision-making processes. By integrating AI, the hackathon aimed to cut down the time required for permit processing significantly, also improving monitoring and enforcement capabilities. The proof of concept developed demonstrated AIs potential in summarizing data and extracting relevant information, marking a significant step in the digital transformation of Rijkswaterstaats processes.
