After leaving the tram on Czaar Peterstraat, the victim took a short walk with an acquaintance. Near the park, he was cornered and assaulted by a group of eight men, including being hit with an umbrella. The perpetrators fled, leaving the victim injured, who was then transported to the hospital by ambulance.
The police request anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
