Tracked Vehicles for Casualty Transport to Ukraine

The Netherlands donates 25 YPR armored recovery vehicles for casualty transport to Ukraine. Minister Ruben Brekelmans announced this today during a meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group (UDCG). More than 50 countries come together for the coordination of military support to Ukraine. The UDCG took place in Brussels and was led for the first time by the United Kingdom.

Minister Brekelmans: “We are approaching the sad milestone of 3 years of large-scale Russian aggression in Ukraine. For 3 years, Ukrainians have been tirelessly fighting for their future. And thereby also for our freedom and security. The Netherlands has committed more than €10 billion in military support. Of this, approximately €6 billion has been realized. Especially now that Ukrainians are suffering heavily at the front, we must continue our support without hesitation. Against Russia, peace is only possible through military strength.”

Tanks and F-16s

The minister also reported that the Netherlands has now delivered the last T-72 battle tanks promised to Ukraine. Our country made this donation together with the Czech Republic and the United States.

Additionally, Ukraine has recently received a new batch of Dutch F-16s. These are aircraft that had previously been promised to the country. Defence does not disclose the exact number of aircraft that have already been transferred for operational reasons.
