On December 24, 2024, around 10:15 PM, the control room received an urgent report of a shooting incident in Almere on Bakkenzuigerstraat. Unfortunately, the suspect had already fled when officers arrived, but some shell casings were found. These were secured by the Forensic Investigation (FO) for DNA analysis. Also, surveillance footage from the area has been secured by the detectives and is under investigation.
Second Shooting Incident
On Monday evening, January 6, 2025, around 9:30 PM, shots were fired again, and another urgent report came in to the police. The shooting incident took place once more at the same location. Fortunately, no one was injured, and detectives were able to secure surveillance footage. On Friday, January 17, 2025, a minor boy from Lelystad was arrested for involvement in this shooting incident. This person is still in custody.
Explosion
On January 16, 2025, at around 3:15 AM, an explosion occurred on Bakkenzuigerstraat, after which a fire broke out in the building. The fire department arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire. No injuries occurred in this explosion, but significant damage was caused to the business premises, and it could have ended very differently. The exact damage is currently unknown.
