On Tuesday, January 21, a 31-year-old man from Hilversum was arrested on suspicion of online fraud. He allegedly defrauded 67 victims of approximately €10,000 in one year.

The suspect sold tickets for events on various online platforms. When someone responded to an ad, they received an email with a payment link. After payment, victims were redirected to websites for (crypto) gift cards, which were claimed and redeemed by the suspect.

He is believed to have defrauded 67 people between December 2023 and December 2024. Various devices, such as a laptop and phone, were seized at the time of his arrest for further investigation.
