The man was causing a disturbance in the center of Roosendaal. Police received a report from crowd management that the man had been denied access to various cafes, but he was not at all in agreement with this. Police officers present in the Market quickly recognized which man it was. They saw from a distance that a conversation between him and someone from crowd management was becoming increasingly grim. Ultimately, the officers decided to remove him from the center. Initially, he seemed to intend to leave. But moments later, he came walking back into the Market from the other side.
Resistance During Arrest
He was then arrested by the police. The 24-year-old from Wijchen resisted to such an extent that the officers had to use force to get him into the police van. The man was placed in a police cell.
When he was later allowed to leave the station, the present officers heard a loud bang. They saw the man banging against a window of the station. They then saw him walk away and break off a windshield wiper from one of the police cars. He was then arrested again and placed in a cell.
Prohibition Notice for Two Weeks
On Friday morning, the man gave a statement. For disturbing public order, he received a prohibition notice at the request of the mayor. He is not allowed to be in the center of Roosendaal until March 14, 2025. A report will be drawn up for the vandalism of the police car. The Wijchenaar will be held accountable in court at a later date.
