Subsidy Scheme for Amateur Sports Organizations Overrequested for 2025

The budget of €74 million for the subsidy scheme Stimulating the Construction and Maintenance of Sports Facilities (BOSA) for 2025 has been exceeded. On January 13, there were 2,503 applications submitted with a total value of over €97 million.

The application portal for the BOSA subsidy scheme closes when the total subsidy amount requested reaches 155% of the budget. This is included in the scheme to prevent unnecessary new applications and to ensure future applicants have some certainty regarding their requests. This means the application portal will close once €114.7 million has been requested in 2025.

Secretary of State Vincent Karremans: “It is good to see that sports associations have quickly found the subsidy scheme. The demand currently exceeds the BOSA budget. Therefore, the cabinet has ensured that amateur sports organizations can also use a larger subsidy scheme for sustainability measures in 2025, namely the DUMAVA.”

Sustainable Social Real Estate Subsidy Scheme (DUMAVA)

In 2025, sports associations can choose whether to apply for sustainability measures under the BOSA or the DUMAVA scheme. The DUMAVA scheme helps owners of existing social real estate with the costs of sustainability. The DUMAVA scheme opens on Monday, June 2, 2025, with a subsidy budget of €345 million. More information about DUMAVA can be found here.

More information on the differences between the two schemes can be found here.

In addition to the opening of the DUMAVA, VWS is also working with the ministries of VRO and KGG to find ways to sustainably stimulate sports based on the report “Amateur Sports Fit for the Future”, to promote the continuity and affordability of sports associations.

Webinar for Amateur Sports Associations

On Thursday, February 20, RVO, in collaboration with the Ministry of VWS, is organizing a webinar that will explain the application procedure and conditions of the DUMAVA scheme for amateur sports associations.
