Controls on Bicycle Lighting and Speed in Hoofddorp, Fifty Fines

On January 22, the police checked traffic safety in Hoofddorp. Riding without lights, speeding, and distractions from mobile phones make traffic dangerous. A total of fifty fines were issued.

In the early morning, the police checked on the Fanny Blankers-Koenlaan in Hoofddorp. Cyclists without lights received a fine of 70 euros. Spare bulbs were also distributed. A total of 27 fines were issued.

Speeding

On the Johan Enschedelaan, where the maximum speed limit is 50 kilometers per hour, 8 fines were issued during a speed check. The highest recorded speed was 81 kilometers per hour.

Use of Mobile Phone

Other violations were also noted:

  • nine fines for using a mobile phone while driving,
  • one for ignoring the driving direction,
  • four for speeding,
  • and one for an electric bicycle with excessive power.
