Traffic Offenders Fined During Large-Scale Traffic Control in Breda and Rijsbergen

Gebied: Breda/Rijsbergen

During a large traffic control at De Waterman in Rijsbergen and the Graaf Hendrik III Square in Breda, thirty fines were issued. A dozen officers, armed with a breath test and a roller bank, checked around sixty drivers for alcohol and drug use, construction speed, and other traffic-related offenses.

Drivers underwent a breath and saliva test, and fortunately, no one tested positive for alcohol or drugs. However, the police issued reports for the use of a phone while driving, not wearing a seatbelt, and not showing a drivers license. Fines were also issued for ignoring traffic lights and for transporting goods for third parties without a permit.

Be Warned

With these so-called ‘pop-up traffic controls’, the police aim to ensure safety on the road. They call on all road users to strictly adhere to the rules. Drive responsibly and be warned: violations will not go unpunished. Traffic controls can take place at any random time and location within a municipality.

Results of the control:

  • 16x use of a phone while operating a vehicle
  • 2x not wearing a seatbelt
  • 1x failing to show a drivers license upon first request
  • 1x not meeting license plate requirements
  • 1x light transmission of the windows did not meet the requirements
  • 1x transporting goods for third parties without a permit
  • 1x driving without a drivers license
  • 1x ignoring the red traffic light
  • 1x parking on a displacement area
  • 1x driving with sharp parts protruding
  • 1x driving with a broken brake light
  • 2x exceeding the construction speed on a moped
  • 1x driving with incorrectly attached auxiliary coupling of a trailer
