The Social Climate Fund is a European Union fund aimed at a fair energy transition. The Netherlands can receive 720 million euros for the period 2026-2032.
The cabinet has developed four proposals to reduce energy costs or promote sustainable solutions, focusing on vulnerable households and small businesses.
By June 30, the cabinet will decide whether to use the funds from the Social Climate Fund for one or more of these proposals:
- Financial support for low-income households with high energy costs to make their homes more energy-efficient.
- Assisting households in transitioning to cleaner transport, such as electric cars or bicycles.
- Providing advice and support to small businesses for energy savings and cost reduction.
- Refinancing existing policies that already contribute to the energy transition.
We would like to hear your opinion on these proposals. With your feedback, we can improve our proposals.
