The footage shows someone driving at high speed through Roosendaal and its surroundings. Many followers witness life-threatening scenes, even through residential areas. The behavior of the street racer has long been a thorn in the side of the police and the Public Prosecution Service. It should not be the case that someone feels so untouchable and anonymous and poses such a danger to other road users. The driver is not visible in the footage, and therefore the police could not simply arrest him. It must be proven that the speed was indeed driven and who the driver was.
Investigation
Recently, the police have conducted further investigation into this matter. Today, with permission from the public prosecutor, he was arrested outside of flagrant delicto for reckless driving. The suspect is in custody. The car he was driving on Tuesday and his Dutch and foreign drivers licenses have been seized. The police will continue the investigation and will then prepare a file that will be sent to the public prosecutor. That prosecutor will then decide what happens next.
