Suspect arrested after robbery at hardware store in Arnhem

On Tuesday, January 21, the police arrested a 36-year-old man on suspicion of involvement in a robbery at a hardware store. The robbery took place shortly after 9:15 AM on Heerlenstraat. The cashier was the victim.

The suspect entered the hardware store around 9:15 AM, just as it was opening. He immediately approached the cashier but left empty-handed. He rode away on a bicycle. Fortunately, no one was injured, but the cashier was very shaken. A robbery has a significant impact and can disrupt a victims life for an extended period.

Thanks to a Burgernet message and thorough investigation, the man was arrested in Arnhem on Tuesday afternoon. He is currently in custody and will be presented to the examining magistrate on Friday.
