Report
On January 13, around 15:30, an unknown man reported a robbery at a store on Touwstraat in Meppel. He threatened an employee with a knife and fled with the loot. Fortunately, no one was injured. The man possibly fled via Jodenkerksteeg.
Investigation
After the report, multiple units arrived at the scene. A description of the suspect was spread via Burgernet. A search was conducted in the area, but the suspect was not found. We spoke with the employee and conducted a neighborhood investigation. The investigation will continue today, but no arrests have been made yet.
Suspect description
We are looking for a man with the following description:
- Light skin tone
- About 170 cm tall
- Brown eyes
- Prominent eyebrows
- Dressed in black
A few days earlier, on January 9, there was also a robbery in Meppel, near Touwstraat. An investigation is underway to determine if there is a connection between these incidents. People with footage or information are urged to share it.
