On Saturday evening and night, a planned traffic control took place on Maaseikerweg in Roosteren. The driver of one of the vehicles to be checked ignored the stop signal around 00:30 and fled. In this attempt to evade control, the vehicle collided with a police motorcycle. The police officer riding the motorcycle fell as a result. The driver and passenger of the vehicle were immediately arrested after the collision. They are suspected of ignoring a stop signal, driving under the influence, and causing an accident. The involved police officer is responsive and has been taken by ambulance to the hospital for examination. The Forensic Traffic Investigation team from East Brabant will investigate the accident.
