A new Global Energy Transition Forum was launched today at the World Economic Forum in Davos by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and international partners. The forum aims to unite global partners, from Brazil to Canada and beyond, to meet ambitious climate goals and support challenging transitions.
President von der Leyen outlined the forums three main objectives: maintaining momentum on global energy agreements, turning goals into impactful projects, and unlocking investments with smart financial tools.
Despite challenges, especially in regions like Africa with only 2% clean energy investment, initiatives such as the Scaling up Renewables in Africa campaign aim to address these gaps.
The forum seeks to connect governments, companies, and investors to enhance global clean energy efforts, emphasizing Europes commitment to this transition.
