The House of Representatives bid farewell to Lilian Helder on Tuesday, March 4. She was a member of the House from 2010 to 2025. Initially for the PVV, she switched to the BBB in the run-up to the November 2023 elections.
In his farewell speech in the plenary hall, Speaker Martin Bosma reflected on Helders first speech in the House. That maiden speech was so confident that the then Speaker remarked it seemed as if you had been here many times before. After his speech, he pinned the ribbon on her that accompanies the appointment as Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau.
Justice and Security
For the PVV, Helder was the spokesperson for security, police, and justice. After switching to the BBB, she became the spokesperson for justice and security. Before becoming an MP, Helder was a lawyer.
