Man Arrested for Money Laundering

On January 21, police arrested a 28-year-old man during an investigation into the trade of stolen car parts. Tens of thousands of euros in cash were found and seized in his home. He is suspected of handling and money laundering. More arrests are possible.

The police in Amersfoort started an investigation into employees of a former car company selling stolen car parts. This led on January 21, 2025, to searches in Maarssen and Utrecht, and a search in Wijk bij Duurstede. Here, the police found many car parts which they suspect are stolen, such as hoods, doors, and headlights. A trailer and truck were needed to remove everything.

At the suspects (28) home, tens of thousands of euros, a vehicle, and documents were seized for further investigation. More arrests are possible.
