Officers were driving around 4:00 AM through Heinkenszand when they saw a car speeding past in the opposite direction. They decided to pursue the car and saw it driving too fast through a residential area. They followed it down the Drieweg towards Nisse. The officers tried to catch up to the car, but they couldnt get close enough to signal it to stop.
Crashed
When the car entered Nisse, the officers lost sight of it. While they were stopped for a moment, a man approached them, claiming he had crashed. The man turned out to be the driver of the car the officers were pursuing.
He had driven through a fence on the Gerbernesseweg. He then crashed into a parked car that was pushed against a house. The house was damaged as a result.
License Suspended
A preliminary breath test indicated that the man was likely over the legal alcohol limit. He is a 27-year-old man from Ellewoutsdijk. He was taken to the station for questioning. His drivers license was confiscated.
