At around 3:00 PM on Friday, February 28, the police received a report of an accident on Brouwerswijk in the Drenthe Nieuwlande.
Passengers deceased
A small plane was reportedly involved in the accident. Multiple units from the police and other emergency services were alerted. Upon arrival, two victims were found. Unfortunately, assistance was no longer of any use to them. They were the only passengers on the plane and died at the scene. They were a 56-year-old man from Drachten and a 67-year-old man from Hoogeveen.
Investigation by Aviation Supervision Team
Yesterday, officers spoke with various witnesses. The Aviation Supervision Team of the LX (National Expertise and Operations Unit) also arrived at the scene and has initiated a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
