Officers from the Zeeland-West Brabant unit, in cooperation with Customs and the Royal Marechaussee, arrested three men in the port of Vlissingen on the night of February 19 to 20. Customs discovered a total of 20 kilograms of cocaine in a container during this operation.
Two suspects were apprehended on a port site in Vlissingen while attempting to break open the container where the cocaine was hidden. The third was arrested in a car with which the trio had arrived.
The suspects include a 16-year-old resident of Hilversum, a 20-year-old resident of The Hague, and a 20-year-old resident of Amersfoort. The harbor police of the Zeeland-West Brabant unit is conducting an investigation.
The drugs, with a wholesale value of 500,000 euros, have been removed and are now destroyed by the Special Assistance Team (TBB) of Customs. All suspects have been transferred to Torentijd in Middelburg and are detained there for further investigation.
