The chairpersons of the committees for European affairs of the parliaments in the EU discussed the priorities of the Polish EU Presidency and the European budget for the impacts of climate change during the COSAC Chairpersons Meeting in Warsaw, Poland. For the Senate, the chairperson of the European Affairs committee, Bastiaan van Apeldoorn (SP), participated.
During the meeting, Van Apeldoorn raised issues such as foreign interference in elections through algorithms and disinformation, and questioned Minister for European Affairs Adam Szłapka about the priorities of the Polish Presidency of the EU Council in this regard.
The COSAC Chairpersons Meeting is the preparatory meeting for the plenary COSAC session from June 8 to 10, 2025, in Warsaw. The meetings are part of the parliamentary dimension of the EU Presidency of Poland.
