Over 800 Hemp Plants Found in Business Premises in Middenmeer

Gebied: Middenmeer

The police found over 800 plants on Tuesday, March 4, in a building on Nijverheidsweg in Middenmeer. The involvement of the tenant of the premises where the grow operation was discovered is under further investigation.

The hemp grow operation came to light due to a MMA report and the presence of a strong hemp smell in the area. The drug team North Holland discovered the space in the business premises. The grow operation consisted of several rooms and contained a total of over 800 plants.

The plants have been seized and destroyed, along with all equipment. The quantity in combination with the equipment suggests that this was a professional hemp grow operation.

Stealing Electricity Can Cause Fire

Electricity and water were stolen for the grow operation. The energy company and the water company have safely shut everything down. Stealing electricity can cause short circuits or overheating, which can lead to fires. This is a risk you do not want where you live or work.
