Debate on the Outcomes of the Housing Summit and Rent Increases

The demand for affordable housing is high. Therefore, at the Housing Summit of late 2024, it was agreed to realize 100,000 new homes and 30,000 social rental homes. On Wednesday, February 12, the House will debate these and other agreements made during the Housing Summit. You can follow the debate from 16:05. The debate will be live subtitled. 

Mona Keijzer, Minister of Housing and Spatial Planning, will attend the debate on the outcomes of the Housing Summit and the rise in rents in the House of Representatives. 

Housing Summit

The government, municipalities, corporations, and market parties are working together to solve the housing shortage. On December 11, 2024, they gathered at the Housing Summit. Minister Keijzer informed the House with a letter about the outcomes of the summit. She indicates that the agreements made should bring the approach to the housing shortage into the next phase. “A phase in which we want to move towards concrete implementation, concrete solutions, and a mentality of how can it be done. In short, a phase in which we want to make a tangible difference in the lives of all people who rely on our support.”
