Customs finds 37 kilograms of cocaine in refrigerated container at Rotterdam port

On February 13, customs discovered a shipment of cocaine at the port of Rotterdam. It consists of 37 kilograms with an estimated wholesale value of 925,000 euros.

During a check, the drugs were found in the inspection area of a refrigerated container. At the container, the Special Assistance Team of customs encountered two employees of an empty depot, a storage area for empty refrigerated containers, while they were handling the packages. They were subsequently arrested. One man was released the next day, while the second was suspended from pre-trial detention after being presented. However, both remain suspects in the investigation.

HARC team

The HARC team, a collaboration of Customs, FIOD, Port Police, and the Public Prosecution Service in Rotterdam, is further investigating the case. The drugs have since been disposed of and destroyed by the Special Assistance Team.
