FASTNL arrests fugitive man from Poland

Gebied: Driebergen

This morning, FASTNL arrested a 30-year-old Polish man in Etten-Leur who is on the European Most Wanted list. He is wanted by Poland and Germany for serious crimes, including a fatal violent incident in 2021. This man received a prison sentence of 3.5 years for drug offenses and resisting the police.

The man was also sentenced to one year in prison for a violent incident in 2019. Additionally, he was active in Germany and committed a violent home invasion in August 2021. Prosecution in these cases is still ongoing.

Search and Arrest
Poland requested his arrest and placed him on the international wanted list. In December 2024, he was put on the ‘European Most Wanted’ list, aimed at suspects of life crimes. Following new leads about his whereabouts in the Netherlands, FASTNL, under the direction of the National Public Prosecutors Office in Zwolle, initiated an investigation. This led to a business in Etten-Leur, where the man was found working under a false identity. He had been hiding in the Netherlands for years. The man will be brought before the public prosecutor in Amsterdam, after which the court will decide on his extradition to Poland or Germany.

ENFAST
FAST NL is part of the European Network of Fugitive Active Search Teams (ENFAST), a collaboration of law enforcement teams within the EU.
