Response to AD: No Charges or Investigation Against Northern Netherlands Police Chief
Today, an article appeared in the Algemeen Dagblad regarding oversight by the Northern Netherlands police unit over Airsoft Combat Support. This article requires important nuances.
There have been no charges against the police or Police Chief Martin Sitalsing, and there is no ongoing investigation into him.
The Dutch Airsoft Sports Bond (NABV) has raised signals about Airsoft Combat Support, prompting police action. These signals were investigated by the Corps Chief Tasks department, leading to a written warning. Multiple parties were involved in this decision.
After the warning, the company was rechecked, but no violations were found.
The NABV has appealed the decision to maintain the companys license. The police considers it important that the judge assesses objectively and has rejected a conversation with Fred Teeven to ensure the purity of the process.
The NABV has also filed two charges. The first charge did not lead to a criminal investigation. The second charge is still under review. The OM is also examining whether the Corps Chief Tasks department is involved in the alleged criminal activities.
