Senate: ‘5 billion euros from Climate Fund for agriculture’

On Tuesday, February 18, the Dutch Senate voted on five budgets they had debated a week earlier. These include the 2025 budgets for Climate and Green Growth; the Climate Fund; Economic Affairs; the National Growth Fund; and Finance and National Debt. All budgets were approved by the Senate. A motion from the CDA party was also passed, requesting the government to ensure that 5 billion euros is made available in the Climate Fund for activities and measures in agriculture that contribute to the funds objectives. The motion was supported by parties including OPNL, GroenLinks-PvdA, SGP, D66, Volt, CDA, PVV, ChristenUnie, BBB, and 50PLUS, while FVD, SP, PvdD, VVD, and JA21 voted against.
