Presentation
Quartermaster Nijboer presented the social agenda to students from the Zuiderkroon child center in Hoogezand, the child mayor Mara Staal, and officials from the national and regional governments: Minister Eddy van Hijum, Secretary of State Eddie van Marum, Deputy Susan Top, and Mayor Cora-Yfke Sikkema.
Together with residents and organizations
For the social agenda, the quartermaster spoke with hundreds of residents and organizations. This makes the agenda from and for the residents of Groningen and North Drenthe.
Sixteen measures, three foundations
The social agenda includes sixteen measures under three foundations:
- Stimulating community spirit. Initiatives such as sports clubs and volunteer organizations play an important role.
- Providing help earlier. Investing in additional lessons for children and attention to mental health.
- Systematic approach to problems. Investments in skills and personal guidance for people with debts.
Nij Begun
The social agenda is part of Nij Begun. The cabinet aims to provide perspective to Groningen and North Drenthe. There is 3.5 billion available over thirty years for this social agenda. Implementation will start in 2025.
