Cannabis cultivation site with over 1,000 plants dismantled in IJmuiden, suspect arrested

Gebied: IJmuiden

The police found over 1,000 plants in a cannabis cultivation site on Industriestraat in IJmuiden. During the raid, a man managed to escape through the roof. He was arrested shortly thereafter in Amsterdam. He is a 41-year-old man from Amsterdam.

Thanks to investigations by the drug team, the entire cultivation site has been dismantled. The plants have been seized and destroyed, along with the lights and climate systems. The quantity, combined with the equipment, suggests that this is a professional cannabis cultivation site.

Stealing electricity can cause fire

Electricity and water were stolen for the cultivation site. The energy company and the water company have safely disconnected everything. Stealing electricity can lead to short circuits or overheating, which can cause fires. This is a risk you do not want where you live or work.
