Electricity production from renewable sources such as solar, wind, and biomass increased by 10% to 61 billion kWh in 2024.
Electricity production from renewable sources such as solar, wind, and biomass increased by 10% to 61 billion kWh in 2024. Production from fossil sources decreased by 4%. As a result, renewable sources accounted for about half of the total electricity production. During the sunny and windy month of April, this was even 63%. For the third consecutive year, the Netherlands exported more electricity than it imported. This is evident from the latest figures from CBS. Source last updated: 10 March 2025
