On the second day of InfraTech 2025, innovation awards, workshops, and lectures were central. Innovation was the main theme, with special attention for young professionals. Innovation awards were presented, highlighting the importance of collaboration. Martin Wijnen from Rijkswaterstaat emphasized collaboration and innovation as essential pillars.
The Innovation Awards were given in three categories: Product Innovation, Process Innovation, and Sustainable Collaboration. Winners included Boskalis Nederland, DuraVermeer and Heijmans, and the province of Gelderland.
Minister Madlener praised the sectors dedication and innovation, crucial for sustainability and technology in the Netherlands.
Another key topic was nature-inclusive building, focusing on the big five of nature-inclusive requirements. This market signal was appreciated by Rijkswaterstaat.
Data-driven asset management was another theme. Ron Kolkman from Rijkswaterstaat shared plans for rolling out data-driven management.
Climate adaptation was discussed as a significant challenge. Ideas were shared on how to make the Netherlands more resilient to climate change.
Young professionals had the opportunity to network and learn during the Young Professional Safari. The evening concluded with a college tour with State Secretary Chris Jansen, highlighting the importance of innovation and infrastructure investments.
