EU announces new €120 million humanitarian aid package for Gaza

In line with the EUs commitment to aid Palestinians, the European Commission announced a €120 million package for Gaza. This increases total EU aid to over €450 million since 2023, alongside Air Bridge deliveries of 3,800 tonnes of aid. The EU collaborates with partners to ensure rapid aid distribution.

President Ursula von der Leyen stated: “The ceasefire brings hope, but Gazas situation remains dire. Europe is providing €120 million in 2025 to support Palestinians.”

The aid includes:

  • Food assistance for food insecurity
  • Healthcare support for medical facilities
  • Water and sanitation services
  • Shelter for displaced persons
  • Protection for vulnerable groups

The EU will coordinate with UN and other partners for prompt aid delivery.

Background

The EU supports organizations in Gaza and the West Bank. Access and security issues have limited operations. A Humanitarian Air Bridge has delivered over 3,800 tonnes of aid via 60 flights.
