Members of Parliament Receive Petitions on Tuesday, January 21

The committees of the House of Representatives receive petitions on Tuesday, January 21, as is customary in every meeting week. Citizens and organizations who want to express their views come to the House of Representatives to present petitions. This time, MPs will receive seven petitions.

The petition presentation occurs between 1:15 PM and 2:00 PM in the central hall of the House of Representatives, the Statenpassage. Citizens and organizations present the petitions to various committees. Members of Parliament from these committees come to the Statenpassage to accept the petitions.

Petitions on Tuesday, January 21

  • 1:15 PM: Petition on the Climate Agreement on behalf of CARE Nederland to the Committee for Climate and Green Growth;
  • 1:15 PM: Petition Future Vision of Municipal Waste Services on behalf of the Royal Dutch Association for Waste and Cleaning Services (NVRD) to the Committee for Infrastructure and Water Management;
  • 1:30 PM: Petition Restore the Education Requirement in the Archives Act on behalf of the Brabant Historical Information Center (BHIC) to the Committee for Education, Culture, and Science;
  • 1:30 PM: Petition Repair the Energy Law on behalf of Four Energy to the Committee for Housing and Spatial Planning;
  • 1:30 PM: Petition on the Fireworks Ban on behalf of the Royal Canine Protection to the Committee for Infrastructure and Water Management;
  • 1:45 PM: Petition on the Housing Shortage on behalf of Aedes, Woonbond, Maaskoepel, and housing seekers to the Committee for Housing and Spatial Planning;
  • 1:45 PM: Petition Politics, Stop Acting Like a Kindergarten on behalf of the Hague Montessori Lyceum to the Committee for Education, Culture, and Science.

What is a Petition?

A petition is a way for citizens and organizations to make their voices heard. A petition can be about government plans that the submitters disagree with or about a topic that they believe lacks attention in Parliament.
