Speaker Martin Bosma attended the National Holocaust Remembrance on Sunday, January 26, at Wertheimpark in Amsterdam. Together with Senate President Jan Anthonie Bruijn, he laid a wreath on behalf of the States General.
Annual Commemoration
They laid the wreath at the Nooit meer Auschwitz Mirror Monument in Wertheimpark. Every year, on the last Sunday of January, the Holocaust victims are commemorated.
Speeches
In addition to the wreath-laying, there was a silent march and speeches by Jacques Grishaver and Prime Minister Dick Schoof. Music was performed by Herman van Veen and the Brandt Gypsy Orchestra.
80 Years
This year marks 80 years since the liberation of the Netherlands and Auschwitz.
