Commission awards €417 million to researchers through Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions
The European Commission announced the results of the 2024 call for Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships under the Horizon Europe programme. With a total funding of €417 million, 1,696 post-doctoral researchers from Europe and beyond will develop their projects with high-level training. Their projects span social sciences, life sciences, and engineering.
- Social sciences and humanities: 22.94%
- Life sciences: 20.93%
- Information sciences and engineering: 15.63%
Topics include cultural heritage, cancer research, and artificial intelligence. 41 researchers will work in countries targeted for increased research integration.
Commissioner Ekaterina Zaharieva stated: “The MSCA fellowships showcase the excellence of researchers across Europe and beyond, offering a unique opportunity to expand skills and collaborate internationally.”

REGIOSTARS competition 2025 launched
The European Commission has opened the 2025 REGIOSTARS competition to award the best Cohesion Policy projects. Applications are open until 20 May 2025 in five categories. The public can vote for their favorite project.
Vice-President Raffaele Fitto said: “The competition highlights excellence in transforming regions and improving lives. I encourage many projects to apply!”
