The Commission Adopts its March Infringement Procedures
To ensure citizens and businesses fully benefit from the EUs advantages, the Commission maintains a continuous dialogue with Member States to ensure compliance with EU law and initiates infringement procedures against member countries in case of non-compliance.
Todays decisions in this infringement package include 6 letters of formal notice and 15 reasoned opinions. The Commission also decided to refer a case to the Court of Justice of the EU. Finally, the Commission decided to close 91 cases where the Member States concerned, in cooperation with the Commission, have ended an infringement and ensured compliance with EU law.
