Minister Bruins (Education, Culture and Science) has made agreements with provinces and municipalities for culture between 2025-2028, including Almere and Flevoland. Alderman Kees Ahles signed the covenant during Eurosonic Noorderslag.
All twelve provinces are represented. The covenants contain agreements on joint responsibilities and cooperation in the cultural sector.
Culture belongs to all of us
Eppo Bruins stated: Culture belongs to all of us. We make agreements on cultural policy and priorities. Talent development is important, so that creative makers can flourish.
Kees Ahles added: “Culture is for all of us, so collaboration is essential, especially with the province and the national government. Almere is growing, and culture must be well integrated into spatial developments.”
Valuable collaboration
The covenants contain agreements on cultural priorities, which strengthens the cultural sector across the country. For Almere and Flevoland, specific agreements have been made about landscape art and cultural basic infrastructure. There are also agreements on fair compensation for creators and talent development.
These covenants provide a solid foundation for cooperation between governments in the coming four years.
