NVWA Warns About Weight Loss Pills DynaPills and Meri Capsules

The Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) warns consumers not to use the weight loss pills DynaPills and Meri capsules. These pills contain dangerous ingredients and can therefore have serious side effects. They are being offered on platforms like Instagram and TikTok.

Research by the NVWA shows that the substance sibutramine is found in DynaPills. Meri capsules contain both sibutramine and sildenafil. These substances are banned in food products. They can cause heart palpitations, headaches, nausea, and vomiting.

Previous Warnings

The NVWA regularly warns about weight loss products sold via social media. They often contain dangerous substances that are not listed on the label, putting users health at risk. In 2024, it was about Özlex Tea and in 2023 about FXSLIM Lady&Man.

In 2024, the NVWA conducted a study on various brands of weight loss pills available on social media. This study found that 7 out of 11 examined brands contained dangerous substances that were not listed on the label. The NVWA continues to actively monitor these types of products.

Consumers

The NVWA advises against purchasing weight loss products via social media and recommends consumers who already have DynaPills and Meri capsules at home not to use them. Those who have used these products and experience side effects should consult a doctor. Side effects can also be reported to Lareb Adverse Effects Center.

Consumers who encounter such products on the Dutch market are asked to report them to the NVWA.
