In the 11th year of the Demonstration Energy and Climate Innovation (DEI+) grant, entrepreneurs can again test or demonstrate energy innovations. This year, the DEI+ budget is € 370 million, up from € 305 million in 2024. All themes are open for applications starting January 28.
Higher Grant for Energy Innovations
The DEI+ grant has increased. Entrepreneurs test ideas to reduce energy use or CO2 emissions. The subsidy covers 10 themes, with projects ranging from flexible electricity systems to hydrogen use. Each demonstration project can receive up to € 30 million, and pilot projects € 25 million. Applicants must prove they are not in financial difficulty.
Changes in Circular Economy
The Circular economy theme no longer splits applications by budget size. A total budget is available for all projects. New possibilities for circular design pilots are included, requiring products to be repairable or reusable at the end of their lifecycle.
Installation of Offshore Wind Farms
The DEI+ focuses on projects reducing CO2 emissions. Clearer guidelines now exist for projects supporting renewable energy, including offshore wind farms. This grant is executed by the RVO for the Ministry of Climate and Green Growth.
Online Information Session
On February 3, an online session will cover the main DEI+ changes for 2025, with time for questions. Register now.
