To ease traffic in the A12 area and enhance livability, the A12 Slim Reizen program offers a special trial for workers and residents. They can try an e-bike or speed pedelec for free for two weeks.
Participation
Joining the trial is simple and free. Visit the A12 Slim Reizen website for details. Reserve your bike at a participating shop in the region. Pick it up on the agreed date and return it after two weeks. If you decide to buy, you get a discount. The trial runs until July 2025.
‘Thanks to fast cycling routes, youre often quicker by bike than by car, especially during rush hour on the A12,’ says Sandra Faessen, project manager of A12 Slim Reizen. ‘This trial encourages people to discover the benefits of an e-bike or speed pedelec. Its a push to consider switching from car to bike.’ An e-bike is suitable for 15 to 20 km one-way trips, while a speed pedelec is ideal for up to 40 km.
