The National Police and the Public Prosecution Service (OM) have conducted extensive investigations into Jos Leijdekkers, who has been residing in Sierra Leone for some time. This was confirmed by various signals from around the world.
Leijdekkers, 33 years old, is one of the most wanted suspects in the Netherlands. It is crucial for the police and OM to bring him to the Netherlands to serve his sentence. Many efforts are being made to locate him, but details cannot be shared due to the investigation.
Leijdekkers is on the National Wanted List and the EU Most Wanted List. On June 25, 2024, he was sentenced by the Rotterdam court to 24 years in prison for six drug transports totaling nearly 7000 kilograms of cocaine and for ordering a murder. Additionally, a Belgian court sentenced him to 10 years in prison in September 2024 for drug trafficking and assault.
The Dutch police are also investigating other cases in which Leijdekkers may be involved, such as the disappearance of Naima Jilal. The OM has offered a reward of 200,000 euros for information leading to his arrest.
