This morning in Brussels, President von der Leyen met with General Keith Kellogg, the US Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia.

The President emphasized the EUs crucial role in ensuring Ukraines financial stability and defense, committing €135 billion (approximately $145 billion), more than any other ally. This includes $52 billion in military assistance, matching US contributions.

She outlined plans to enhance defense production and spending, reinforcing both European and Ukrainian military capabilities.

President von der Leyen reiterated that the EU is committed to military assistance for Ukraine and is ready to do more.

She reaffirmed the EUs dedication to a just and lasting peace, emphasizing that any resolution must respect Ukraines independence and territorial integrity, supported by strong security guarantees. She also expressed the EUs readiness to work with the US to secure the peace Ukraine deserves.

The President made it clear that now is a critical moment.
