The National Investigation Service and the Fiscal Intelligence and Investigation Service (FIOD) have today searched homes and business premises in Rotterdam, Capelle aan den IJssel, Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel, Middelburg, and Sint Oedenrode. The searches are a continuation of an ongoing investigation into corruption and fraud surrounding tenders from the municipality of Rotterdam.
The investigation started in early 2024 following publications in NRC. At that time, searches were conducted in The Hague and the Limburg town of Echt. The follow-up investigation by the National Investigation Service has been working towards todays action day. In collaboration with the FIOD, data carriers and documentation were seized in the entered premises. No arrests were made.
The investigation, led by the Public Prosecution Service, is not yet completed, and therefore no further announcements can be made at this time.
