Over 4 percent increase in revenue for transport companies in the fourth quarter of 2024
In the fourth quarter of 2024, the revenue of the transport sector was 4.2% higher than in the same period last year. This marks the fourth consecutive quarter of increased revenue. Most branches within the transport sector saw an increase in revenue compared to the same period last year, except for water transport and postal and courier services. CBS reports this based on new figures.In the fourth quarter of 2024, revenue in most sub-sectors increased. The highest revenue growth was again seen in storage and services for transportation (+8.9%), followed by air transport (+5.5%) and land transport (+3.8%). In contrast, revenue in water transport (-5.4%) and postal and courier services (-4.4%) decreased compared to the previous year. Both sub-sectors within water transport experienced a decline. Revenue in sea and coastal shipping was 5.3% lower than the same period a year earlier, while inland shipping revenue decreased by 5.7%.
