On January 23, the Presidents of the Dutch Senate and House of Representatives welcomed the Kenyan Senate President, Amason Kingi. Jan Anthonie Bruijn and Martin Bosma met him in The Hague.
Jan Anthonie Bruijn emphasized the strong economic ties between the Netherlands and Kenya. “Our king and queen will visit Kenya in March, reaffirming these connections.”
The Senate President discussed shared values such as democracy and human rights. He expressed concerns over recent violence in Kenya, which contradicts these values.
Martin Bosma highlighted the trade relations, noting that the Netherlands is a key partner for Kenya, especially in agriculture.
Bosma also praised Kenyas role in East African stability, despite regional conflicts.
Kingis trip also included visits to Luxembourg and Belgium.
